How did you honor the deceased?

Cremation?

Burial?

Donation?

We had Schmitty cremated. I’m not sure, yet, what we’ll do with his ashes in the end.

My first cat who died was buried under the lilac bush in our back yard of our home in Detroit. It was one of his favorite spots. My first cat who was mine (Cinders), I had cremated. I still have her ashes in the sealed box they were returned to me in, along with her favorite toy. I still haven't decided what to do with them, but they're with me. The guy I dated through college and later married and divorced lost his cat, Smokey, to complications from feline diabetes (another story I should post about). His case was extremely unusual, and his vet in Michigan asked if they would consider donating his body for research; they consented, which I think is kind of a cool thing too if the opportunity presents itself.
