Got this email from a coworker this morning – do any of you have advice?

Hi Jen,

It appears that a mother cat has moved her kittens to my mother’s yard and two of the three are sick – partially blind perhaps or with infection. Please tell me who I can call? Do you have any suggestions? Animal control will not guarantee not to euthanize them and they insist we trap them all in a box first but the mother won’t let us near her kitties and my mother and I are reluctant to touch the kitties for fear that the mother will abandon them. Your wisdom is appreciated!

Oh no! I know that barc is swamped but could they help? I actually have to call Lisa today and ask her about setting up a group donation pool there to pay for a dog’s burial. :[ Very sad and sudden death. Anyway, I want to help! Yzz is usually really good at this sort of thing. Hopefully, she stops by.

Well, my coworker just called me and told me that she ended up taking the kittens in to a clinic last night. One of them didn’t make it, but the other two have about a 75% chance and getting intensive treatment, fluids, etc. I guess they both have bad upper respiratory infections, and one is likely going to be blind, but they did show some improvement overnight. My coworker is going to keep the kittens if they make it, and she’s already named them: Bonnie and Clyde. :)
