To Hold or Not to Hold
We have three cats. We always do, it seems. Schmitty, may he rest in peace, loved to be held. LOVED IT. Asked for it. Was annoying about it. But the others? Not so much. Tucker will tolerate it for a second then he squirms and/or jumps. Pookum will bitch and complain and then sometimes she’ll claw you accidentally trying to get down. Murray is on the fence. Sometimes, he’s totally cool with it, other times, not so much. (He does love to snuggle, tho. If you’re sleeping or seated.)
How about yours?
Dub is a big mush and LOVES to be held. He’s my dancing buddy. :)
Kali loves to snuggle, but she hates being held. She usually gives Mike a bit more leeway with it than she does me, but then again, she’s a total daddy’s girl.
Junie doesn’t seem too crazy about it, of course most of the times we’ve picked her up it has been to take her into the bedroom for a time out…
None of my kids particularly like to be picked up. They all squirm around until I put them down. Seven is a big lap cat (only with MEN!). Kali is a sleep-snuggler. If you’re trying to fall asleep in the bed or on the couch, she’s flopping around next to you. Boris only likes to sit on my lap when I’m sitting on the toilet…. I blame keeping him sequestered in the bathroom for the first two months he was with me. Pearl also only snuggles on her terms: must be no other cats around, you must be seated, you must NOT make direct eye contact, and you must NOT put your face close to hers.
